Susanne Kriemann: Artist Talk & Artist’s Book

On Friday, November 20, 2020, we invite you to the presentation of the practice of German artist Susanne Kriemann – a discursive event, part of a series of events organized this fall by Galeria Aparte (project space of the Faculty of Visual Arts and Design within the National University of Arts „George Enescu” Iași) in partnership with the German Cultural Center Iași and the FaPt Association.

Artist’s Book: „P (ech) B (lende): Library for Radioactive Afterlife”
In addition to the event to present her artistic practice, the artist Susanne Kriemann will exhibit, on the web page Visiting Artists of the website of Galeria Aparte (aparte.arteiasi.ro/visiting-artists), the artist’s book „P(ech) B(lende): Library for Radioactive Afterlife“, Ed. Heike Catherina Mertens, Spector Books, Schering Stiftung, Leipzig, 2016. This book was published on the occasion of Susanne Kriemann’s exhibitions Pechblende (Prologue) at Prefix Institute of Contemporary Art, Toronto, and Pechblende (Chapter 1) at Ernst Schering Foundation, Berlin.
The participation of the artist Susanne Kriemann is possible with the support of the German Cultural Center in Iași and Goethe-Institut, and is mediated by the curator Cătălin Gheorghe (“George Enescu” National University of the Arts, Iași and Vector Studio).
Susanne Kriemann (* 1972 in Erlangen) is an artist and professor, living in Berlin and Karlsruhe. Kriemann’s work is characterized by an engagement with the medium of photography in a socio-historical and archival context. Her work has been exhibited worldwide, recently in solo exhibitions at the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg, the CCA Wattis San Francisco, and the 21Haus Vienna, among others. Kriemann participated in many biennials, e.g. 5th Berlin Biennial, 11th Shanghai Biennial, 10th Gothenburg Biennial. Her work has been published in 18 artists‘ books.
